Cascarones
We had a bunch of cascarones (confetti-filled eggs) left over from Easter and fiesta so we went out and had a little fun....

Fiesta
San Antonio is in the middle of Fiesta, an annual spring festival that began as a single event to honor the memory of the battles of The Alamo and San Jacinto. This Friday is Battle of the Flowers, a day off school and a big parade downtown. The city is decked out in bright colors and flowers are everywhere. The kids decorated shoeboxes at home and prepared for their own parade. Ella's is a ballerina fairy garden theme. When the magic ballerina dances, the flowers grow. Gosh, I love having a girl! :)
On to day of the parade and party, Ella wanted flowers in her hair so we put all her flower hair clips in to 'fiesta' up her look ....

Easter
We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. We certainly did! The Easter Bunny came and Ella woke up to look for eggs around the house. After breakfast she headed out to the backyard to discover that the Easter Bunny made a stop in the back yard as well! Spoiled rotten this little girl!
At lunchtime, we headed over to our friends, Marisa & Daniel for an Easter BBQ. The kids had another egg hunt put on by us and then cracked cascarones (confetti-filled eggs) over each other's heads. We even got in on the Mexican tradition and have the confetti aftermath to show it....
