My dad left Tuesday night for Vancouver. We had a nice dinner and then drove him to the airport. When he said goodbye to Ella she started to cry. She kept saying, "no, papa home," which could have meant she didn't want him to go home, or she was asking him to stay at "her" home. She finally calmed down on our way home but still asks for "papa" when she wakes up in the morning. Too cute!

To both our Dads, we hope you had a wonderful birthday. We love you both and we miss you all the time. Ella sends a big hug and kiss to her Granddad and her Papa! xoxo

The playgroup had an Easter Egg Hunt today. It was much more impressive than I thought it was going to be, complete with an egg hunt, face painting, fishing game, and the easter bunny! Ella also had her 2 year well baby check up (28.5 lbs, and 2'11) and hasn't slept but an hour today. She's falling asleep at the table and can barely keep her head up.

We are all so wiped out from the festivities yesterday, I slept in until 9:30 (thank you Ron!) and we lounged around the house all morning still trying to regain some energy for today. Here's a couple of birthday outfits, one from Grandma (with her new purse too) and one from her friend, Emmanuel.

After lunch we took a little drive to the North Shore to give Ron some study time, and had planned on getting some pineapple ice cream from the Dole plantation, but Ella was knocked out shortly after leaving the house. She's napping now, and hopefully gets enough rest for all the other activities coming up... more playing with Grandpa, an Easter Egg hunt tomorrow, gymnastics on Tuesday.... we're busy and it never seems to end.

As I mentioned yesterday, Ella received an ATV, a Dora the Explorer ATV and she LOVES it!!!!
It's official... my baby is two years old. We had a birthday BBQ for the kids and adults, a finally fixed playground, cake, presents, and a beach ball sprinkler. It was fun and Ella thoroughly enjoyed and exhausted herself. To say she was spoiled is an understatement. She got clothes, bubbles, dolls, a laptop, princess accessories, a giant princess dancer, and an ATV. She's been on circuit overload all day and this evening LOVED her ATV around the living room. We're charging it now, so it'll be ready for the great backyard tomorrow!

I completed Ella's cake today. It was quite the project and my first real attempt at decorating with butter cream icing (thanks Steph for the tips and ideas). Here's Ella's Elmo cake.... (she was crazy excited when she saw it!)

We had Ella's birthday portraits taken today, and an Easter picture in the new Easter dress Grandma and Granddad sent her. Tonight after dinner, we dressed her up and let her open up her presents from Grandma and Granddad. As usual, Grandma knew exactly what pleases Ella most and even included a tiara for the little princess. I'm going to be putting together a dress-up trunk for Ella as she has become even more girlie (if that's possible) and loves her earrings, necklaces, dresses and dress shoes. If she could she'd wear her black dress shoes with every outfit! The tiara was a big hit, as were the gorgeous outfits and perfect "princess" capris. But the purses stole the show. Notice how she tries to unwrap a present with one had because she doesn't want to put her purses down....

Grandpa (aka "papa") arrived Tuesday night and is here for Ella's upcoming birthday. She is so happy when he's here and loves to run around and show him everything. She loves to sit in his lap while he reads her stories, or hold his hand when we're out and about.
Today, we headed down to Toys 'R Us to check out some Bounce Houses. The one we've been waiting for has been perpetually out of stock, but the larger one with a slide was not only available, but also on sale for the same price as the smaller one we've been waiting for. Here's is Ella's early birthday present and she
LOVES it!!!

When we moved in November, our pool ended up with a hole in it. We finally replaced it and the girls played all afternoon in it while I read on the lanai. I love these kind of afternoons.
We're getting ready to go shopping and I attempted to give Ella pigtails... I need more practice but here's Ella in the backyard this morning.

Here's our little diva (Christin - she
loves these sunglasses you gave her last year!)
Tonight, Ella was extra hyper before bed and after I had cleaned up the kitchen, found her doing somersaults in the living room...
