Happy Birthday To You

Princess Party II

Princess Party

Today was Ella's birthday princess party. It rained all night and into the day so it was a difficult task to keep the little princesses occupied indoors. It was a great afternoon overall and the weather eventually cleared up enough for the kids to play at the playground. I managed to pull off Ella's princess cake last minute and it turned out fabulous (if I do say so myself)!

Waiting for the cake... Happy Birthday, Ella! ... With Princess Safiyyah...

Dear Granddad,

Thank you so much for my beautiful earrings. Mommy let me wear them with my new sundress and they match perfectly! I always feel like a princess and these earrings are especially sparkly for such a little girl.

Thank you, Granddad.

Love,
Ella xoxo

Bliss

Last night after dinner, I told Ella to go get her pants and sweater on, we were going for a walk. She ran into her room, she was so excited. (We haven't gone for a a walk with her stroller since I bought the treadmill)

As I was putting my shoes on at the door, Ella comes running around the corner beaming the hugest grin, throws herself into my arms and proclaims: " Mommy, I feel happy!"

What more could I ask for? :)

Tomorrow - 7am - Finally!

Rachel and I will be up at the crack of dawn for the opening. Thank goodness for tax refunds! Hello old friend, I have missed you!!!!

Bellows AFB

Yesterday, Ella and I took Diane to Bellows Beach and Kailua for one of her last days here visiting. It was a beautiful day for the most part (considering it was raining up where we live all day). It's always great to see Diane and listen to stories of her and my mom. It gives me a chance to see my mom as the friend through the eyes of her best friend, rather than just as my mom. Diane is family to me and I'm always grateful that Ella and I get to spend a bit of time with her when she visits. Of course Ella has been talking about no one else since...

Hale Koa and Hilton Hawaiian

We met Diane at the Hale Koa pool today for a swim and some lunch and then walked through the Hilton Hawaiian village to look at all the animals. They have parrots, penguins, turtles, fish, flamingos and ducks throughout the grounds. Ella loved the animals and all the beautiful statues.
