Fall is Here

Well, our house is back to normal for the most part.  We're on the last of the anitbiotics and we sound and feel much better.  Daily allergy medicine has made a world of difference for us and we can get on with life.  We're also into our fall wardrobe... some days Ella wants to model :)

November Update

It's been a busy couple of weeks.  November is rolling through like a tornado.  It's going so quickly.  We've been back and forth with the a/c and the heat.  One day it's 80 and the next it's in the low 40's.  Fall is offically here, the wind is cold but some afternoons, that sun gets hot.  I'm thinking we've finally turned a corner this weekend and the nights are consistantly cold.

Our house is suffering from major allergy attacks.  I battled a headcold that turned out not to be a cold at all but allergies.  I found out too late that I've developed allergies and ended up with a sinus infection.  Ron's allergies are acting up and he's on ear drops for some ear congestion.  And poor Ella, has her first ear infection.  She's been on some allergy medicine for the last few nights, but the congestion was too much.  Last night I was up with her for a few hours while she cried in pain and finally fell asleep as the tylenol kicked in.  Ugh!  It was awful!  This morning she was fine, but by 3 pm, I took her over to the pediatric urgent care for ear pain.  Sure enough, she's gotten her first ear drops and tomorrow will start her antibiotics.

Ella and I have never had allergies to ANYTHING.... ever, in my life...EVER.  People said Texas and San Antonio will do that - the allergy symptoms are so bad I thought they must be a cold.  I had no idea they could start or be so severe so quickly.    So, between the 3 of us, we're on 9 different meds right now for the congestion, allergies, ear aches, fevers and infections.  We're practically on a first name basis with the pharmacist at this point.  Hopefully, the infections and congestion clear up quickly so it's just a routine allergy regimine.

I've been busy doing holiday and family photo sessions, so here are a couple of photos of Miss Ella workin' it for my camera the other weekend at SAMA....

SAMA Walk

Last Friday, after Ella's Halloween Party, we headed to the San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA) to walk along the river walk.  I also use any and every opportunity to practice and Ella turns out to be the craziest model :)   Check  THIS out to see some outtakes.  Here are just a few... there are plenty more to come....

Saturday in the Park

Last Saturday we headed into hill country to the Guadalupe State Park.  It's such a gorgeous month here in TX.  A little cool at night (but not quite sweater weather) and still 80 degrees in the day with little humidity and a bit of a breeze.  It's hard to believe it's the end of October and it's still t-shirt weather.

Guadalupe State park is a large camping, hiking, river-tubing natural preserve along part of the Guadalupe River.  It was so beautiful, we talked about saving for some camping gear in the near future.... and by camping gear I meant a tent trailer.  Ron?  He meant a bus. Like an RV bus.  A bus we could live in year round.   ummmm, not going to happen... at least until retirement when we can travel the continent in a bus. :)

Castle for a Princess

While in Gulfport this summer, Sara took me to a store called Tuesday Morning.   I guess it's like the equivalent to "Winners" in Canada but more of a bargin and mostly household decor and toys.  I found this fold-up wooden castle complete with wooden furniture.  I couldn't resist as she already had all the Disney princess figurines including Cinderella's carriage, from her third brithday cake.  Needless to say it's been a hit... and she even dresses for the occassion...
